Nancy Hernández was born in 1956 in Guamini, southern Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Between 1991 and 1996 she lived in Aruba, Netherlands Antilles. Starting in 1997 she settles down in San Rafael, Mendoza.
Her work is characterized by the use of polychromy, recreating the nature of a series of themes from her mystical view of life and the depths of the ocean, to the colorful landscapes of San Rafael.
She plays with the overlapping of planes, using the palette in a free manner, and her paintings ignore limits, as if trying to get out of their frames.
Her artistic training takes place between 1975 and 1982 in Buenos Aires, at the Facultad de Arquitectura, UBA (School of Architecture, University of Buenos Aires), and at the Talleres de Arte de Carlos Bisolino y Rafael Bueno (Carlos Bisolino & Rafael Bueno’s Art Workshops). From 1982 until 1989 her training continues at the Taller de Dibujo y Pintura del Maestro Ernesto Manili (Master Ernesto Manili’s Drawing and Painting Workshop). In 1995 she attends Maritza Erasmus’ Sculpture Workshop, in Aruba.
Many of her works are now part of private collections in different countries around the world.
